Feel the Christmas Magic - Nikiszowiec Christmas Market

The 16th edition of one of the most eagerly awaited Christmas events in Katowice - Jarmark na Nikiszowiec - starts soon, on 8 December. So get your reindeer jumper and Santa hat out of your wardrobe now, book your free time, and leave it to the exhibitors waiting for you in Nikisz to get into the Christmas spirit!

No other event stirs up as much excitement as the Christmas markets held every December. Some people look forward to them, others invariably complain about the crowds and high prices. However, there is one thing that they certainly do not lack: a unique atmosphere and a unique ambience. Is there any other place that combines tradition and modernity in such a coherent way? At the stands, we can find original oscypek cheese with cranberry, handmade gingerbread, traditional Silesian delicacies, organic honey, liqueurs or mulled wine, as well as the much-loved by kids (and definitely more 'trendy') food trucks with churros or bubble waffles.

It is worth bearing the fair in mind when looking for gifts for your loved ones. High-quality and one-of-a-kind handicrafts such as ceramic, wooden, woollen or glass products sold by local craftsmen are the perfect gift for any lover of the currently very popular hand-made products.

The organisers are still keeping us in the dark by hiding the detailed schedule of the event. However, participants can certainly look forward to traditional attractions such as the Viennese carousel, choir performances and the Wieczorek Brass Band.

If you plan to come by car, you do not have to worry about parking spaces. Around 1,500 spaces around Nikiszowiec are planned to be available for visitors. However, please note that during the fair the entrance to the estate will only be open to residents. However, special permits will be required to park along Nałkowska Street. It is also worth considering using one of the free bus lines. During the event they will be running from various (even distant) parts of Katowice.

Finally, let's not forget the most important thing - the Christmas Market is the perfect opportunity to spend time with family and friends. Often, in this Christmas rush, we forget to take a moment to relax. Therefore, on 8-10 December, find time to drink mulled wine with friends or stroll along the illuminated and snowy streets with your family.
